Apple-Avocado Smoothie

Avocado adds creaminess and a very mild flavor to this healthy, refreshing smoothie.

Prep: 6 minutes

1 Hass avocado

2 cups crushed ice

1 cup almond milk

2 tablespoons honey

2 teaspoons fresh lime juice

1 (6-ounce) carton vanilla low-fat yogurt

1 (3.9-ounce) container Granny Smith applesauce (about 1⁄2 cup)

21⁄2 teaspoons sliced almonds, toasted (optional)

1. Cut avocado in half lengthwise; discard pit. Scoop pulp from avocado halves, and place in a blender. Add ice and next 5 ingredients; process until smooth. Garnish with almonds, if desired. Serve immediately. Yield: 5 servings (serving size: about 3⁄4 cup).
